Book "Armenian Folk Tales"

The tales included in the three-volume “Armenian Folk Tales” were selected from several dozen collections compiled on the basis of materials collected by folklorists in the 19th-20th centuries and the beginning of the 21st century. In order to make them more accessible to the general public, they were translated from different dialects into literary Armenian, to some extent preserving the folk vocabulary and remaining faithful to the original. Several tales included in the volumes were compiled from variants of the same tale in the form of a collection. During the selection, preference was given to those tales whose main motifs are common in the folklore samples of different provinces of Greater Armenia, as well as those tales that are unfamiliar to our society, but are very valuable. hidden treasures that introduce us to the mentality, spiritual and cultural heritage of the Armenian people in a new way. These tales are instructive and relevant today. We are sure that they will arouse great interest among both young and old.
