Wilhelm Hauff (1802–1827), an outstanding representative of German romanticism, created a significant literary legacy during his short life. A significant part of his work consists of fictional fairy tales, which brought him worldwide fame. The collection includes a series of fairy tales, “The Inn of the Spessart,” and several short stories.
