Description
In the novel The Lady of a Midsummer Night's Dream, the protagonist and her mother are strangers to their surroundings; they have renounced their nationality and faith, living with a false identity. In their struggle with fate, they fail and eventually lose the power of speech. In order to survive, they learn to remain silent, which leads to alienation and rejection from their children.
