Description
The name of Aldous Huxley, one of the key figures in 20th-century futuristic prose, is traditionally associated with a genre that has found its rightful place in literature: dystopia. Huxley’s Brave New World is one of the earliest works of this literary genre. It predates the famous novels of George Orwell and Ray Bradbury and is distinguished by its terrifying vision of the future, described with prophetic accuracy. The events of the novel unfold in the year 2541, when people are no longer born naturally, the family essentially does not exist, and the consumer society has reached the peak of its development. The novel contains references to political, economic, cultural and religious systems, and the characters resemble famous figures in 20th-century world history. This classic work by Huxley is published in Armenian translation for the first time.
