The book "The Adventures of Cipollino" by Gianni Rodari

Rodari's work is a hilarious world of characters embodied in fruits and vegetables. Even the names of the characters (Little Pig Cipollino, Signor Tomato, Prince Limone) speak of their unique character and behavior. The real and imaginary worlds merge. The result is exceptionally subtle and apt humor, which, however, does not prevent the author from touching on the most serious topics, for example, the question of possible solidarity between one's own and others.
