Description
Tigran Petrosyan began working on this book in the early 1980s but never finished it. After his death, it was summarized by the chess player's widow, Rona Petrosyan. The book is compiled using Petrosyan's lectures on the strategic nuances of chess, reports, recordings of television and radio broadcasts, articles published in weekly newspapers. Thanks to the efforts of his wife, Rona Petrosyan, it was possible to find recordings of Petrosyan's lectures, which are considered the best methodological materials of the famous chess player. Tigran Petrosyan had a defensive style of play, thanks to which he received the honorary title of "Iron Tigran". He rarely attacked and put more effort into preventing the opponent's attacks than into organizing his own attacks. Patience and good defensive skills made him a chess player who is difficult to defeat. The book contains important articles by the world champion, commentary on games, coordination of moves and lectures. The legendary chess player's 14 lessons cover all phases of a chess game, making the book an excellent guide to self-improvement. The book includes a special foreword by the 13th World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov.
